HISTORY OF CHRIST CHURCH SCHOOL

1977

 

In 1976, work began for a new nursery building to be built.

The completion of the Nursery cost £30,000 and the first child started on 9th May 1977.

The official opening and dedication of the Nursery took place on 25th May 1978.

The Bishop of Southwark, the Rt. Rev. Mervyn Stockwood dedicated the new Nursery.

  HISTORY OF CHRIST CHURCH SCHOOL THANKSGIVING SERVICE On Tuesday, 23rd July 2024, at 9:15am, a thanksgiving service was held at Christ Church and St. Stephen’s, Cabul Road, London, SW11 2PN, to mark the closure of the school.   The event celebrated the rich history and cherished memories of Christ Church CE Primary School, both past and present.   The service included: Readings, prayers and psalms given by Father Geoffrey Prayers of Thanksgiving written by the children of Christ Church School Hymns such as ‘Here I Am Lord’, ‘Father We Adore You’, ‘Holy Holy’, ‘As The Deer’ and ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful' An invitation to Holy Communion A procession of crosses with children carrying them down the aisle to the altar, with one of these crosses which previously hung in the school hall being passed over to a pupil of Sacred Heart RC Primary School who formally attended Christ Church School The headteacher Mrs Colette Morris addressing...
